Spring (April–May)
Blossom season in Hunza and Gilgit, with cherry and apricot trees in flower and comparatively few visitors.
High passes and alpine lakes are usually still under snow, so plan valley-level travel.
Summer (June–August)
The widest access window: Deosai, Babusar and Khunjerab are generally open and trekking season is in full swing.
Also the busiest period, especially on weekends in Naran and Swat.
Autumn (September–October)
Clear skies, stable weather and the famous golden colour through Hunza in mid to late October.
The best all-round month for photography and comfortable trekking.
Winter (November–March)
Quiet valleys, snow-covered peaks and skiing at Malam Jabba and Naltar. Some roads close.
